Go see Iron Man

Great flick! And ... hang out for the extra time past the impressively long list of credits. It's worth it if your are a Marvel fan in any way, shape, or form. (Oh, and of COURSE Stan Lee is in the movie. Keep your eyes open.)

I think this is the best role I've seen Robert Downey Junior in, in a very long time. I think he had a lot of fun with it. (Though I really liked him in Charlie Bartlett.) And, boy was he buff!

Jeff Bridges did really well with his role, particularly towards the end of the movie. If I told you any more, I'd have to issue a spoiler alert.

I want to see it. She-who-doesn't-get-into-superheroes won't be interested. Maybe I can take the kids.

I had an interesting talk with someone at work, a non-superhero fan, who was explaining Iron Man to me. "It's about this guy, and like he doesn't have powers, but then he wears this suit, and it makes him super strong..." Apparently, the movie is a hit, EVEN with people who have no idea who Ironman is....

Fabulous, a genre movie that sucks in the mundanes!

I really liked the suit. I don't think I could do the flying thing, but the weaponry and armor were very enticing.

from an actual sequential art (comic book) fan with concerns about Marvel's ability to leverage its broad base of lesser-known characters with its demand of F/X to portray them, I am quite pleased with "Iron Man." "Batman Begins," among a v. few others, demonstrated that an adult story, with A-list actors (not stars) playing the roles straight and grounded in reality (as much as one can within a comic book genre film), can bring b.o. rewards AND critical acclaim.

Here's to an equal sequel!
