Our cats are utter chow hounds. Boose, our younger alpha cat, is constantly on the prowl for treats, leftovers, and anything unattended that he can steal. Over the last few months we have learned that he has VERY weird food preferences. He particularly likes things like pasta, cookies, breads, and cakes.
This afternoon, Goblin shared some Triscut crackers with Boose. (Weird cat)
This evening, Goblin enjoyed a plate of plain pasta with butter, which Boose gladly licked clean afterwards. (Not too too weird.)
Later, I had a was enjoying some mushroom and kale soup (no cream, mind you), along with some pepper jack cheese. I had my leftovers on the table beside my lounge chair in the living room. We were watching television. I heard licking and thought that Boose had stolen some food from somewhere. When I turned to see what was being licked, I was shocked to see our older cat, Zoey, standing on her hind legs licking the end of the pepper jack cheese block.
Argh! I took the cheese away from her to put it away. I figured that I didn't want the bit she had been licking, so I cut off a 1/8th inch slice and decided to indulge her by giving it to her. The slice actually came off in multiple pieces. Both cats pounced on the pieces of pepper jack cheese and sucked it up. For added grins, I put my mushroom soup bowl in the floor and Boose licked it dry.
WEIRDOS! This brings to mind one of my favorite Phoebe songs from Friends:
You Tube won't let me embed this, but here is the classic Phoebe Buffay song from Friends: Smelly Cat

Amazing and annoying feline trick
Our younger cat is quite talented and cute. He is also stubborn, single-minded, and often annoying in his pursuits.
We keep kitty treats in a high kitchen cabinet. He is well aware of the location of his favorite nibbles.
This evening, I came home to discover a new bag of kitty treats on the dining room floor, TORN open. The bag had previously been on the upper left hand shelf of the kitchen cabinet (see photo). Not only was the bag in the floor, but the cabinet was closed (cabinet shown open in photo for perspective).

How the heck did he get up there? How did the cabinet door remain (or get re-) closed?
The cats were not interested in obtaining dinner. Good thing, since we weren't interested in giving them any dinner. We locked them in the basement for the night in irritation. However, we kept wondering in amazement how he did it.
The older cat is too lazy to have been invovled in any aspect of the operation, other than enjoying the spoils.

Laundry-loving kitty
Our neurotic cat has a new hobby of late, dragging dirty laundry up from the basement and depositing it around the house. He is especially fond of the dining room. There's nothing like coming home in the evening to dirty skivies in the dining room. One day last week, I gathered up all the dirty laundry he had redistributed during the day. It was a particularly huge haul. See:

I really want a web cam to capture him dragging this stuff up the basement stairs. The beach towel would have been particularly impressive to see.
